BAHAMAS

The Bahamas, with its rich cultural heritage and commitment to international collaboration, played a signifi cant role in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2022. As a participant, the Bahamas actively engaged in discussions, shared perspectives, and contributed to the collective eff orts aimed at addressing global challenges and fostering unity within the Commonwealth.

CUBA
Established under the Indian Economic Trade Organization, the trade desks of Cuba support the companies from India to connect with their Cuban counterparts and to initiate collaborations that are in demand from both the sides. These desks work under the supervision of the commercial division of the Embassy and the Chamber of Commerce in Cuba based on the MOU signed by the IETO and the Cuba Chamber of Commerce in Havana.

JAMAICA

In a dedicated endeavour to strengthen economic bonds, a diverse delegation comprising 17 distinguished Indian representatives initiated dialogues with Jamaican stakeholders. Their collective mission was to foster collaboration and unearth avenues for shared advancement and prosperity. Guided by the leadership of Dr. Asif Iqbal, President, Indian Economic Trade Organisation  (IETO), these interactions traversed a spectrum of sectors. From pharmaceuticals and agriculture to education, tourism, and the burgeoning film industry, the meetings laid a robust foundation for a prosperous and harmonious economic partnership between India and Jamaica.

ECUADOR

I n a virtual discussion with the Diplomatic Aff airs Editor, Mr Mohit Srivastava, the Ecuador Ambassador to India, Hector Cueva Jacome expressed his views on his trial of the Indian Covid Vaccine along with his wife when they administered the fi rst shot of Bharat Biotech’s Covid-19 vaccine at PGIMS, Rohtak. The phase-III effi cacy trial for the vaccine is being conducted at PGIMS. “I am confi dent that the trial would be concluded on a positive note this is a great moment to express my gratitude,” said Ambassador Hector

IETO also associates with countries of America like GUYANA and SURINAME. The common desire of economic prosperity and inclusive growth is creating new opportunities for expanding the cooperation. India’s cooperation with Jamaica will always be for bilateral progress and deepen trade & investment partnership by encouraging greater ties between industry players.
